With Telmo in Busan, 9 June 2026

Telmo, a neurosurgeon from Santa Cruz do Sul, is learning
a new technique at one of Busan's hospitals. That we should meet here –
he takes English classes with me in Santa Cruz – is a wonderful coincidence.

The guy who's responsible for Telmo's well-being during his stay drives us to
various pretty marvellous sights in East Busan. It is a most enjoable trip!

Santa Cruz do Sul, 26 January 2026 I'm writing this on the evening of Monday, 26 January 2026. Exactly a week ago, I got so furious when taking in my usual dosis of information, that all of sudden I turned off my laptop and said to myself: That is enough, I'm not going to give my attention anymore to people I consider  power hungry, utterly vain and thoroughly nuts. It is beyond me why I've never seriously questioned my addiction to the news; that  the  fact that I'm a news junkie never really bothered me. Sure, I somehow knew that  but I did not take it seriously.  On the contrary, it was a badge of honor. Near Seoul Station

Seoul, 5 June 2026 Near Seoul Station, I spotted a side street that, when walking along, transported me to another time, or, more to the point, a feeling of timelessness. Shortly before becoming aware of these flowers I saw what must have been an art class engaged in attentive drawing. No sound was to be heard, only eternity seemed to be present. A rare experience!
