Nara, Japan, 1 October 2025

The hotel near the train station where I was staying had no
adapter, so off I went to find one. A young and very friendly lady
in the shop that the recepionist had recommended informed me that
they only had adapers for Japanese going abroad but not the other way
'round. She offered to phone around and then let me know that there was
a shop but very far, and definitely too far to walk. Nevertheless, I decided to
give it a try. It was indeed a long walk yet I got to see a suburban Japan I so far
had not encountered – it looked very much like suburbia anywhere. What I enjoyed 
were the flowers on the way.

Santa Cruz do Sul, 26 January 2026 I'm writing this on the evening of Monday, 26 January 2026. Exactly a week ago, I got so furious when taking in my usual dosis of information, that all of sudden I turned off my laptop and said to myself: That is enough, I'm not going to give my attention anymore to people I consider  power hungry, utterly vain and thoroughly nuts. It is beyond me why I've never seriously questioned my addiction to the news; that  the  fact that I'm a news junkie never really bothered me. Von Sarnen nach Sachseln

Sarnen, am 29. Mai 2026 Sarnersee, am 29. Mai 2026 Sachseln, am 29. Mai 2026 Am See entlang dauert dieser Spaziergang etwa eine halbe Stunde. In Sachseln angekommen, erkundige ich mich nach dem Hauptplatz, von dem mein Sitznachbar im Zug, der in Sachseln wohnt, gesagt hat, fünf Minuten würden genügen. Ob ich den Dorfplatz meine? Einen Hauptplatz gäbe es nämlich nicht. Die Strasse hoch und da rechts, da gäbe es die Kirche, ein Cafe und einen Denner. Es gab auch noch eine Statue von Niklaus von Flühe, den ich mir irgendwie anders vorgestellt hatte, nicht so schlank, obwohl er sich ja angeblich lange von Luft ernährt haben soll. Am Bahnhof in Sarnen komme ich mit einer jungen Frau aus Mauritius ins Gespräch, die im Rahmen ihrer Kunstausbildung gerade einen Kurs in Bildnerischem Gestalten durchgeführt  hat, Wir sprachen über alles Mögliche und wieder einmal bestätigte sich, dass f ür einen guten Austausch weder Geschlecht noch Herkunft, sondern ausschliesslich good vibes entscheidend s...
