Santa Cruz do Sul, am 9. Februar 2024 Im südbrasilianischen Sommer bewohne ich seit einigen Jahren ein Häuschen in einem weitläufigen Garten, den man füglich auch als Park bezeichnen könnte, in dem ich täglich rumspaziere. Fotos mache  –  und immer wieder von neuem staune, was ich alles, obwohl es doch vor meinen Augen liegt, übersehen bzw. nicht gesehen habe. Gänzlich unbegreiflich ist mir etwa, dass ich an diesen Pflanzen habe  vorbeigehen können  – während Tagen  – . ohne sie zu sehen. Nein, ich werde mich nicht um Gründe und Erklärungen, Ausflüchte also, bemühen. Mir reicht es, wieder einmal zu konstatieren, dass ich offenbar weit öfter im Dämmerschlaf unterwegs bin, als mir bewusst ist.

Wangs, Switzerland, 22 July 2021 When going on walks not far from where I happen to live, I often come across sights that call my attention for the simple fact that I did not expect them being there. The colours above, for example, I do not associate with the  German part of Switzerland although I know from experience that these and similar colours are to be found there. Well, knowing is one thing, an experience of the senses quite another. PS: I doubt that I had paid attention to this housefront without having my cellphone (and thus the camera) ready.  

Santa Cruz do Sul, 30 January 2024 Patterns intrigue me, they suggest there's a plan behind. I do of course not know whether there is a planner or whether what we can observe evolved or maybe both. Our cause-and-effect thinking has proved amazing in regards to inventions, it has however been far less  amazing when explaining human nature that does not seem to have developed since the stone-age.
